South Korea Part 1: Haeundae, Busan
The 45th scientific assembly of COSPAR took place in Busan, South Korea. It was a super fun and productive conference for me, actually resulting in several new scientific collaborations!
Busan is huge, and although much of my time was tied up near Centum City/BEXCO, I spent many early mornings and late evenings exploring various parts of Busan. This series will be split into 6 parts:
Korean Food (wip)
Seoul (wip)

Upon arriving and checking in to my hotel, we were immediately greeted w/ the Black Eagles, the 53rd Air Demonstration Group of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF). This is the equivalent of the Blue Angels in the US, but they fly their domestically-produced and specially-painted KAI T50B Golden Eagle. Future conference hosts, please take note: this is how you greet a bunch of space nerds.
Sadly, I did not bring my telephoto lens, so the furthest reach I could get was with my 56 mm (85mm equiv) lens.
Since my hotel was right on Haeundae Beach, I was able to get some nice sunrise photos. A short walk gets you to the traditional Haeundae Market, which is a bit of a tourist trap, but also packed with good food and cute vibes.
