UCLA - Work on the Roof

To communicate with the ELFIN CubeSats, we’ve built two antenna arrays on top of the Knudsen building at UCLA. In late 2020 (2 years after ELFINs launch), I worked with a few awesome EPSS staff (Emmanuel and Ryan) to do some deep maintenance and refurbishment of these arrays. Enjoy some fun shots, including a very rare peregrine falcon sighting!!!

Shot primarily on my trusty Fuji X-T3 with a 50-140 mm f2.8 lens.

And here’s me and Emmanuel installing a new L brace and rebalancing the South antenna array. Selfies are definitely very safe for work.
