Victoria Island
Over in Victoria Island, I got to attempt some astrophotography. It was my first time, and it took me a while to figure out the proper settings. The glow is from light pollution still, but even though the results aren’t amazing, I’m happy with the end product. The moon was very bright that day, and we stopped shooting when the moon rose.
We wanted to go shoot a lighthouse next, and we happened to go on a day that they were doing a live gun demonstration with WWII era guns! That was sweet, as one of my favorite WWII guns is the Bren light machine gun. It was so cool being so close to one being fired, and I managed to get a lucky shot with amazing timing showing the muzzle flash in detail.
By a stroke of luck, there was a huge car fair going on in Victoria, and old historic and vintage car models from all over the place were coming to this small island in droves. Some of these were taken on a tilt shift lens, to make them look like toy cars!
